CAMPUS POLICIES

All students are required to agree to and sign the BAHA Student Expectations Agreement each year in order to participate in BAHA classes. If the agreement is not upheld at any point, BAHA reserves the right to dismiss the student from further involvement with BAHA.

Respect

Bay Area Homeschool Academy will expect and uphold an attitude of respect to all people and belongings while on campus.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Respecting the teachers and the rules of each classroom; Speaking kindly to one another.

  • No stealing or abusing another's property

  • No threatening or inappropriate words or conversations; No swearing

  • No electronics in class (unless permitted by teacher for educational purposes) or to communicate with a parent or carpool.

  • No Weapons of any kind (including pocket knives)

  • No inappropriate attire. This includes: skirts, dresses, or shorts that are above mid- thigh length, hole-y jeans with holes above the mid-thigh length; cropped tops exposing mid-drift, low cut, or tight fitting shirts; any vulgar or violent images on clothing, bags or any item. Anything that would be distracting in the classroom will not be permitted.

  • All alcohol and drug use is strictly prohibited, including vaping or prescribed meds that don’t belong to the student. This is not something we will take lightly, and a second chance may not be given.

  • A lazy attitude or refusal to participate in class, including repeatedly not turning work in, is not deemed acceptable at BAHA. If the problem is addressed and the behavior is not changed, a student may be asked to leave the program.

One way students can respect one another and the teacher is with their focus and participation in class. The overall attitude of the class plays a vital role in the learning environment; therefore BAHA will expect all students to be attentive, to work hard, and to participate appropriately in the classroom

Consequences

Discipline and Consequences can include, but are not limited to:

Verbal or written warnings.
Teacher/parent conversations
Students being asked to leave the classroom
Students being asked to leave the program ( a very last resort)

We certainly do not anticipate having any problems, but want it to be clear that if a case arises that needs to be dealt with - we will uphold the program guidelines of respect, and these consequences will be utilized. If a student can ultimately not comply, they will be asked to leave the program as a last resort.
